This is a really innovating and unique project, although we envisage to reproduce it somewhere else, as we do with all our activities.
This new activity, started in November 2005, apart from creating new posts for excluded men and women, tries to give a new air to the management of school kitchens and meals.
Therefore, our target is the application of our distinctive hallmark in the management of school meals as we do in the rest of our activities.

Aquesta nova activitat, iniciada el novembre del 2005, a banda de crear nous lIocs de treball per a dones i homes en situació d'exclusió, intenta donar un nou aire a la gestió de cuines i menjadors escolars. En definitiva, es tracta d'aplicar en la gestió dels menjadors escolars el mateix criteri que apliquem en la resta de la nostra activitat.
El projecte més detallat el podeu consultar clicant més avall però, a grans trets, el rasumim en quatre eixos d'actuació, que són els següents:
Nutritional axis: taste, nature, quality and health
Environmental axis: sustainability, waste reduction, recycling, reusing, cleaning products and composting
Social axis: responsible consumption, fair trade, social equity and cultural diversity
Educational axis: training in nutrition and consumption, autonomy, and socialization.
The current school year 2006-2007, 1.200 students are benefiting of this service that, among other advantages, offers fruit, rice, legumes and 50 % vegetables ecologically grown, as well as fair trade paste, cuscus, quinoa, spices, sugar and pineapple. As for the lactic products, they come from La Fageda cooperative, in La Garrotxa region, that employs handicapped people.
We emphasize a major consumption of fruit, vegetables, white and blue fish, and wholemeal, and we obviate grease, sugars, fried or precooked meals as much as possible.
We also take environmental care of the kitchens by minimizing garbage, selecting waste, using non aggressive detergents, and also biodegradable throwaway dinnerware.
Moreover, we employ one labour excluded person per school.
At present, we already manage the kitchens in Simphonie Nursery, Can Carabassa CEIP, Patronat Domènech CEIP and Ítaca CEIP.
In the near future another 2007 new version will be available, more practical and updated with all our experience.
