Sustainability is one of the three axes of our activity, together with labour insertion and fair trade.
Our commitment with environment started long ago. When we started producing handmade articles, we already used natural fabrics only: woollen, linen, cotton... And at the time we manufactured handicrafts and games we also used natural materials only: wood, cotton, clay, recycled cardboard...
And when we set up our catering division in 2001, sustainability was already one of the key elements of our activity.
Although one can be respectful with environment even without any certification, it is also true that certifications help establish specific criteria and commitments, to implement periodical efficiency surveys and to finally evaluate to what extent objectives are achieved.
That is why in 2003 we decided to ask for the ISO 14001 and for the EMAS certifications, which we finally obtained in 2004 and 2006 respectively. And the most positive result of it all is the fact that our commitments involve not only the whole staff of “Futur” but also our customers and suppliers.
With or without certifications, we have always believed that our activity must be the least aggressive to the environment, conscious of the fact that it generates a great deal of organic waste and packaging.
That is why our environmental policy pretends to involve not only our staff but also our customers and suppliers.
Roughly, we could say that our activity implies recycling all our waste properly, by using duly certified and recycled stationery, by also using type A machinery free of contaminant gases as well as compostable and biodegradable throwaway, and by progressively introducing ecological food and minimizing energy consumption.
